Nestled in the heart of the Kent countryside, our family recently had the pleasure of staying at a serene cottage that served as a perfect base for local exploration. The tranquility of the grounds, complete with a pond and charming wildlife, immediately put us at ease. Our days were filled with visits to nearby villages like Smarden and Biddenden, where we discovered fascinating historical sites, including Benenden School, once attended by Princess Anne. The owner was welcoming, often aided by their playful black dog, whose antics brought laughter to our little ones. The cottage itself was family-friendly with a well-equipped kitchen, promoting bonding time through shared cooking sessions. Gemma, our host, was quick to assist with any inquiries, which made our stay seamless. The Eastbourne Miniature Steam Railway Adventure Park, only a short drive away, provided a delightful excursion that kept our kids entertained. This experience offered both relaxation and adventure in equal measure, making it a memorable getaway for our family.
